A Dream for Change: Celebrating Five Years of Network of Women NOW

Five years ago, I had a dream. As a Black girl growing up with big ideas and a desire to see a fairer, stronger world for women, I knew that I wanted to make a difference. But dreaming alone wouldn’t create the change I wanted to see, so I took that leap and founded the Network of Women NOW. I wanted to build a movement where women and girls, especially in underserved communities, could find empowerment, support, and the resources to thrive.

NOW has evolved from simply distributing hygiene kits to becoming a multifaceted organization that teaches reproductive health education, publishes an interactive hygiene workbook, and instills confidence in girls. In these five years, NOW has grown from a vision into an international movement, reaching women and girls across the globe. From launching the Louisiana Menstrual Equity Project and providing essential hygiene kits locally, to empowering women in Tanzania and supporting girls in Nepal, NOW’s impact has been profound. Through these initiatives, we’re not only delivering essential resources but also helping women and girls build confidence, preserve their dignity, and find the support they deserve.

As we approach our five-year anniversary this December, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and pride. This journey hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge has only strengthened my commitment to making a difference. NOW’s impact is proof that when you have a dream and the courage to pursue it, you can create real change.

NOW is more than a temporary fix—it’s a sustainable solution to meet basic reproductive hygiene needs for women and girls. By focusing on education, resource accessibility, and community involvement, NOW addresses the root causes of hygiene inequity, fostering long-lasting change. Our programs are designed to equip women and girls with the knowledge and tools they need to take control of their own health and hygiene, building independence rather than dependency. Through initiatives like reusable menstrual product sewing workshops and community-led education, NOW promotes self-sufficiency and empowers communities to continue supporting themselves. By creating a foundation of awareness and accessibility, NOW ensures that every girl and woman has the resources to maintain her health with dignity and confidence, regardless of her circumstances.

This milestone is a moment to celebrate, but it’s also a reminder that our work is far from done. We need supporters like you to keep this dream alive. By joining us, you’re not just donating—you’re investing in the lives of women and girls who deserve the chance to stand tall and dream big.

Together, we can continue building a future where every girl knows her worth, every woman has a voice, and every dream has a chance to take flight. Will you join me in making this vision a reality? Let’s keep the dream alive for the next five years—and beyond.

THANK YOU! WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU IN 2025
